But it won't look good or natural. I'll look like a goth chick or my hair will turn orange if I try to go red (so said a hairdresser once in very alarmed way). My sister though -- her hair is a few shades darker than mine and she can work the red like nobody's business.

Aw. I'd be wiling to bet a really good hairdresser could take you strawberry if you wanted. And you'd be a gorgeous honey brown. But yeah- red's a gamble. That's why, if I do it, I'm going to pay the big bucks for someone who's really good at what they do-and who'll make it right if they futz up.
