It's a Teflon iron cover thingy. My mum swears by them. Basically it allows you to iron everything at the highest temperature without any scorching. It's some sort of magic hoodoo if you ask me, but when mum tells me it works, I listen. (Usually) It also means that I only have to clean the teflon cover and not the iron itself. I kind of think it's like plastic on the chesterfield, but I'm giving it a try anyway.

Dude (ette), I totally bought a new iron because of your review! I now have a rowenta pro and I love it. I haven't gone so far as to buy a teflon thingy....but if I ever do THAT much ironing, I know what to buy.
