bad penny finito!

Bad Baby Brown Blue or Brown Baby Blue Bad or Baby Blue Brown Bad Penny or whatever you want to call her is done.  I knit the 2nd smallest size, but I think I should have gone to the smallest.  It blouses out more than I'm comfortable with. If you go by the pattern pic, it should be a little more form fitting. If I'd taken it off the needles to try it on while I was knitting I probably could have avoided this, but I'm not too fussed. Now I know for next time.  I'll wash it this weekend and trim in the sides a bit. The neckline and the arms are perfect so it should only take a second to fix her up.  Cute, non?

Bad Baby Brown Blue Penny has a bottom band. The eyelets look a little wonky to me, but forgive me, I've never added eyelets into ribbing before. See how the ribs don't really line up on the top and bottom sides of the YO's? It irks me, but not enough to rip it out.  I'm pretty sure I can live with it. I tried it on just after I cast off the bottom edge. It's a little too big; it's kind of blousing through the brown part. Not ideal. I'll most likely do a little surgery once I'm finished with the top bands and she's all done and washed. I'm not afraid to take scissors to my knitting, I learned from the Master.

I haven't been knitting too much with all these baseball games on, but I did watch enough Farscape that I ran out of Tahki Cotton Classic trying to finish up Blue Brown Bad Penny's body. I still have about 2 inches to go at the bottom.  I was forced (hah!) to go to my LYS to grab another hank.  Why don't I have any progress pics? 'Cause when I went to take some, somebody was sleeping.  That's Bad Penny under El Gato's right shoulder.  It also solves the problem of where my measuring tape had got to. 

Oh, and that rain I was looking for? Got it last night. Rain, hail, lightning, thunder...just enough to wake me up every hour last night.  I kinda asked for it, didn't I?

Bad Baby Brown Blue Penny has a body. Sort of. I've only knit about 10 rows on her, but the arms are on holders and I've rejoined to start the body. I'm zipping through the yarn fairly quickly, I'm starting to worry I'll need another hank before I'm done. I thought I'd only need 4 hanks of the Cotton Classic, but I might need 5.  A trip to my LYS couldn't hurt though, I'm all out of Silk Garden anyway.  I know, I'm only working on one project at a time now but everybody needs portable knitting, right?

I'll be working on some more Scrabble stitch markers this weekend, but for now there's a few more posted on eBay.  Have a great weekend!

I've found it challenging to have so many projects on the go, so I'm scaling back and refocusing. I'd like to have Bad Brown Baby Blue (whatever the hell it's called) Penny finished by the time we go to Boston at the end of the month. I'd also like to have another Kitty Pi finished for my in-law’s kitty. I'm pretty sure I can do it no problem, I just don't feel like I'm gaining any ground working on 3 or 4 projects at once.  And I just this second remembered that I haven't fixed Black Belle Star yet. Crap! Oh well, she'll have to wait. I'm almost at the bottom of the raglan increases of BBBB(?) Penny and I get the feeling it's only going to get faster from here on in.

from one bad to another

Seeing as I haven't fixed my problem with Bad Belle yet, I might as well start something new, right? Of course! I've officially cast on for Bad Penny in Takhi Cotton Classic. In an effort to keep my knitting interesting, I'm knitting in dark brown instead of black. That counts as a colour, right? If not, then you'll count the trim as a colour, it'll be baby blue.  My first shirt knit top down, it's cruising along nicely.  That Glampyre's a clever girl.  There's a few stitches missing in the pattern, but nothing that I didn't figure out by reading through it first.

I also finished up that multidirectional scarf in Noro Silk Garden 86. Actually, I finished up three. I know, I know, it's a problem. I can't stop knitting the freaking things. So here they are. Two human sized and one just a little bit smaller.
