Everything seems to be at loose ends right now. I had a shipment of zippers go missing off our front porch. My serger needle thread keeps breaking and the whole machine desperately needs to go to the spa. My iron keeps peeing water out from below the plate. All of this 3 weeks before Bazaar Bizarre. Figures, right?

But I'm getting it all worked out despite the irksome setbacks.

I was going to push to have a shop update done before Baz Biz, but with these speedbumps I'm going to delay it until December 8th. I'm making a metric tonne of box bags and the new mini box bags, so look for plenty of those. As always you can peek in at flickr to see more behind the scenes (or just catch up on kitteh photos.)

You can't go to a sheep and wool festival without buying anything. Well, I suppose you can, but sometimes it's more fun to come home with a souvenir or seven. I went through a lot of the booths at Rhinebeck, but as the particularly rare breed of the non-stashing knitter that I am, I didn't get tempted by much.

Much.

I'm ALWAYS tempted by Brooks Farm and I indulged myself for the first time in two years since seeing them at Kid n Ewe in Texas. I've since knit up all the yarn I got then as Wicked, The Totally Not Noro Noro scarf, Backyard Leaves and the Shetland Triangle.

I haven't got plans for all these yarns yet, but I'm thinking a scarf or two, a wrap, and after seeing Maya's version in person maybe a grown-ass woman sweater for myself. So basically all the same base projects, just different versions. Am I predictable or what?

You're undoubtedly thinking, "dude. I can't handle another Rhinebeck update from yet another knitblogger. Stop talking about how much fun you had!" Seriously though? Rhinebeck was awesome.

I liken it to taking your RSS feeds, flickr contacts and Ravelry friends and dumping them all out into one place, in person, on one fairground. I got to the point where I'd met so many people that I've only known online that when I bumped into Brainylady Alison in the Brooks Farm Booth, I didn't even take pictures. It was simply "Alison! Hi!" "Caro, hi!" we chatted and then kept shopping like it was any old Sunday afternoon. How redonk is that?

So the question is, do you name names of who you ran into? (The links would take forever) Just post photos? Search for yourself on flickr? (A lot of those pics have me holding a beer. Please note that those pics were all taken within a span of 30 minutes. I swear. Ahem.) Maybe some combination thereof?

Or maybe just head over to my Rhinebeck flickr set and get the gist from there. I came home exhausted, but happy. So exhausted in fact, that I left half my yarn in Kellee's car and didn't even realize it until she told me. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go collapse from such a busy October.

I realized that I forgot something off last week's list.

3.5. Remember when I went to Philly in May? We just did it all again except in Boston this time. OMG fun. If you have pals via blogs or flickr and find yourself constantly emailing, IM'ing, texting on a daily basis, you should really set up a meetup. I laughed (and talked, holy smokes can I talk) so much this weekend that my voice still has not recovered. So if you see me at Rhinebeck, I'll probably still have a voice like gravel, but it won't stop me from gabbing. Full flickr set is here.

Is it list time again? October is so crankin' busy this year.

1. I went to London for 10 days. I hardly took any photos other than Project 365 shots because we got the flu almost the instant we arrived. London Flickr set.

2. Box bags. I'm making as many as I can, but they won't go on sale in the shop until December because...

3. I was accepted as a vendor this year at Bazaar Bizarre Boston. I'll be sharing a table with the talented Stitchy McYarnpants. Sharing a table takes some of the pressure off, but I'm hoping to get a TONNE of products made. Shop updates will be a bit thin until after the show, but I'm still hoping to crank out a ton for both.

4. Next weekend is Rhinebeck. My first ever. I'll be stalking the Brooks Farm booth and I'll be at the Ravelry party, so be sure to say hi if you see me! (No, I'm totally not knitting a Rhinebeck Sweater. No time!)
